In a recent development, the Court of Appeal has directed Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi state, to present himself before the court in response to corruption charges brought against him by the EFCC.
The Court has prohibited Bello from proceeding with the case until he has been formally charged.
Additionally, the court has nullified a previous ruling made by the Kogi State High Court.
Bello has been evading authorities since the EFCC’s failed attempt to arrest him during a raid on his residence in Abuja a few months ago.
Efforts to apprehend Bello were thwarted by Governor Usman Ododo during the raid in Abuja.
The EFCC has accused Bello of misappropriating over N80 billion during his eight-year tenure as governor.
