Davido Stands Up for His Family Background
David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, a renowned Afrobeats musician, has addressed misconceptions about his family’s reputation. He asserts that he comes from a family known for its respectfulness, despite his occasional missteps as a public figure.
During a recent visit to the Olu of Warri in Delta State, Davido emphasized his careful upbringing, saying, “I was raised by wonderful parents and belong to a respectful family, although I might sometimes behave out of character as OBO [star].”
This statement comes in light of remarks made by fellow artist Wizkid, who appeared to criticize Davido’s upbringing. Wizkid noted, “When you see those whose families instilled manners in them, you can tell! You won’t find my uncle dancing online!” referencing Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, known for his dance videos on the internet.
