‘Deadpool 3’ Reportedly Dumps Two Fan-Favorites But Adds These Two Main Villains

Some big changes are afoot for Deadpool 3. Ryan Reynolds and his team are hard at work developing the script for the franchise’s third outing, which will also be its big introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although most of the cast was expected to return for the movie, an inside source claims that Marvel is dumping two fan-favorites and adding two new villains.

‘Deadpool 3’ dumps this fan-favorite character

A superhero movie is not complete without some kind of love interest, and that includes the Merc with a Mouth. In the first two outings, Wade Wilson’s relationship with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) filled that void.

Although Vanessa’s story seemingly ended in the opening scenes of Deadpool 2, Wade went back in time using Cable’s (Josh Brolin) time-travel tech to rescue her.

Fans expected to see Vanessa back in action in the third movie in the franchise, but it sounds like that might not be the case. An inside source told We Got This Covered that Kevin Feige does not want to bring Vanessa back in Deadpool 3 but is open to the idea for Deadpool 4.

Feige apparently wants to keep things simple when it comes to introducing Deadpool into the MCU, and that means slimming down the supporting cast. Unfortunately, this means that Deadpool’s main love interest will be missing in action.

That could change, of course, as Marvel gets closer to ironing out the storyline. But for now, it sounds like Vanessa will be left out of the mix.

Who else will be missing in ‘Deadpool 3’?

Vanessa isn’t the only character whose future remains uncertain. Another source told We Got This Covered that Marvel is dumping Deadpool’s friend, Weasel (T.J. Miller).

Just like Vanessa, the studio wants to keep Weasel out of the mix until Deadpool 4, only producers are not sold on the idea of Miller reprising the role. Instead, they are reportedly planning on recasting the part and going in a different direction.

The insider revealed that Marvel is treating Deadpool 3 as more of a reboot than a sequel, which is why they don’t want to add in too many supporting characters just yet. The good news is that these characters are not being permanently ousted.

The source did not say who might play Weasel in the franchise’s fourth movie. Reynolds and his team are still working out the details of the story, so anything could change at this point.

While it sounds like the studio is sidelining some characters, it is planning on introducing a few villains when Deadpool makes his big debut in the MCU.

Marvel reportedly adding some new villains to take on the Merc with a Mouth

Outside of the supporting cast, a source recently revealed that Marvel wants to introduce two villains in Deadpool 3. According to We Got This Covered, the movie’s main antagonists will be Typhoid Mary and Madcap.

As readers are well aware, both of these villains have been featured in the Deadpool comics on multiple occasions. Typhoid Mary is part of the character’s rogues gallery and has telekinetic powers.

Madcap, meanwhile, is an iconic villain from the comics who enjoys breaking the fourth wall just as much as Deadpool. As a result of an accident, Madcap cannot feel pain and has very strong regenerative powers. He can also look into a person’s

Marvel has not confirmed the reports surrounding Deadpool 3. The project is currently under development, though exactly when it will premiere in theaters remains a mystery.
