Three suspected kidnappers have been rounded up by the Delta State Police Command for abducting a couple, killing the wife and leaving the husband almost dead.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe said the suspects on August 2, kidnapped the victims on August 2, 2023 in Orerokpe community.

He said the suspects after collecting ransom from their family, killed the wife and also shot the husband and left him almost dead.

Posting on his X handle, Edafe wrote;

‘’WE DEY WORK, AND DELTANS DEY SEE AM

 Following the kidnap of a man and his wife (name withheld) on 2nd August 2023, in Orerokpe and the wife was murdered by the kidnappers, while the man was also shot after they collected a ransom. They abandoned the victim thinking he was dead. The Command has been working tirelessly to ensure that the culprits are arrested and brought to book. Acting on technically generated information,   on 13th October er 2023, the DPO Orerokpe acting on the directive of CP Wale Abass embarked on a covert operation at Ofuoma in Ughelli North LGA and arrested three suspects who masterminded the kidnap and recovered Four AK 47 Rifles, One, Pump-action gun, One Locally made single Barrel Cut-to-size Pistol, 58 Rounds of 7.62 Live Ammunitions, Thirteen Live Cartridges, Five Packs of Improvised Explosive Devices, 6 Detonators, Eight Empty Magazines. Their names are James Aboyo, Solomon Gbolode, and Blessing Deco. Investigation is ongoing.”
