Delta Government Dismisses SSA Over Fraud Allegations
Favour Obakoro, also known as Vida Modelo, has been dismissed from her role as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori concerning Morals and Diaspora.
The Delta State Government officially announced her removal.
This decision follows allegations that she exploited her governmental position to fraudulently acquire funds from multiple individuals.
Activist Vincent Otse, known by the name VeryDarkMan, brought the accusations to the government’s attention, representing those who claimed to be victims of Obakoro’s actions.
The alleged victims stated that Obakoro assured them her company had trustworthy investment opportunities and guaranteed refunds should the investments not yield results.
When she failed to honor those promises, claims emerged that she intimidated those demanding a refund.
In light of these circumstances, the state government acted swiftly to suspend her.
As per a statement from Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, the Secretary to the State Government, her suspension is meant to facilitate a thorough investigation by law enforcement agencies.
