Rhodes-Vivour Eyes Lagos Governorship Race in 2027
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has announced his plans to run in the 2027 gubernatorial elections for Lagos State.
The former Labour Party candidate from the 2023 elections expressed hope about his candidacy, stating that he might pursue the governorship position, depending on divine intervention.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Rhodes-Vivour reaffirmed his aspiration to become the governor of Lagos.
When questioned about his potential run, he responded, “By God’s grace, yes.”
“If opposition parties do not unite, participating in the 2027 election might be futile due to the significant state capture occurring in the nation right now,” he noted.
“It is crucial for opposition forces to collaborate. My immediate focus is to strengthen my party, the Labour Party.”
In the 2023 gubernatorial elections, Rhodes-Vivour finished second, receiving 312,329 votes, while Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu secured 762,134 votes.
