Unlike that one good friend of yours who simply must “crash on your couch for a few days, promise,” Chris Evans is apprehensive about overstaying his welcome within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The 36-year-old actor has been portraying Steve Rogers/Captain America since 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger and has appeared in six extra Marvel properties since then (counting his Ant-Man and Thor: The Dark World cameos), with two extra on the best way: Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled fourth Avengers movie. As a lot as we love Cap, we will not actually blame Evans for wanting to maneuver on, and it seems like he has plans to just do that.
Once he winds up reshoots for Avengers 4 within the Fall, he’ll be performed for good with the MCU. In a profile in The New York Times about his upcoming function within the Broadway play Lobby Hero, Evans confirmed that after signing up for a six-movie contract all these years in the past, his days as a Marvel superhero are lastly numbered. “You want to get off the train before they push you off,” he mentioned.
Hopefully his arc as Captain America will wrap up within the fourth Avengers movie with a worthy conclusion for the fan-favorite character.
