Activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has humorously requested President Bola Tinubu to “drop him off,” after the President expressed his goal of guiding Nigeria to a better future.
Adeyanju’s remarks were made in response to Tinubu’s optimistic statements regarding his plans for the nation. He sarcastically suggested that he would prefer not to be part of the journey.
It was noted that Tinubu has expressed his strong commitment to lead the country towards this envisioned “promised land” during his administration.
In a recent address, Tinubu highlighted the ongoing support from the National Assembly over the last 19 months as a driving force behind his administration’s initiatives.
This statement was made at his residence in the Ikoyi area of Lagos, where he stated: “We are determined, we are capable, and we are resolute, and we will be there. We will take Nigeria to that promised land with you.”
In light of this, Adeyanju took to social media, posting: “Tinubu promises to take Nigerians to the ‘promised land’ in his New Year message. ME: Please drop me; I don’t want to follow Nigerians to where you are taking them. Thank you very much.”
