Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) conducted a raid on a hotel in the Kubwa area of Bwari council, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, apprehending individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud, according to SaharaReporters.

The raid was carried out at the hotel, The Godfather’s Place on Arab Road on Thursday night, an authoritative police source confirmed to SaharaReporters on Saturday.

SaharaReporters also gathered that the operatives arrested several suspected internet fraudsters during the raid while others escaped from the hotel which is owned by an Assistant Commissioner of Police serving in Rivers State.

“The EFCC operatives acted on a tip off and stormed the place where the fraudsters and cultists hibernated on that day and arrested some of them. Others jumped the fence and there was panic while the operation lasted,” the source said.

“The facility is owned by ACP Alex Udeze who is serving in Rivers State. The police authorities should also probe the facility because of several allegations around cult and criminal activities in the area,” another source added.
