A representative of the agency, Femi Babafemi, reported on Sunday, September 22, 2024, that the arrest involved a suspect who has admitted to drug trafficking for 25 years.
Authorities have taken into custody an 80-year-old man in Lagos for possession of illegal substances.
The arrest took place in the Iyana Ipaja region of Lagos State.
According to the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the elderly suspect, known as Pa Aremu Shojobi, was found with 14 kilograms of cannabis at his residence on Friday, September 20.
“The Lagos State Strategic Command apprehended the octogenarian, who confessed to selling illegal drugs for the past 25 years, claiming he obtains his supplies from Benin Republic and serves his clients from his home daily between 7 am and 10 pm.”
