The special, which is set to air in the slot originally slated for the iHeartRadio Music Awards, comes as many concerts have been delayed and sidelined due to the global pandemic and artists look to circumvent the issue by offering free concerts online. The hourlong concert, which will run commercial-free, will feature performances by guest artists Billie Eilish, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Tim McGraw, Backstreet Boys and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong amongst others. Every artist filmed their performances from their homes using their own audio and video equipment as the public continues to practice social distancing to help prevent the spread of the virus.
The iHeart Living Room Concert for America will also pay tribute to the health professionals, first responders and heroes on the front lines who are putting themselves in harm’s way to help the general public and fight the pandemic, while also encouraging viewers to send support to Feeding America and First Responders Children’s Foundation, two charitable organizations helping victims and first responders during this time.
