Emergency Meeting Held by SGF, NSA, and Ministers Regarding Planned Nationwide Protest

Top government officials, including over 40 ministers of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, are currently engaged in a closed-door meeting to address the impending nationwide protest against economic challenges.

George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, is leading the discussion among ministers concerning the upcoming protest against economic hardship.

The meeting, attended by ministers such as Nyesom Wike (FCT), Yusuf Tuggar (Foreign Affairs), Zephaniah Jisalo (Special Duties), Tahir Mamman (Education), and Abubakar Bagudu (Budget and Planning), among others, is being held behind closed doors.

President Bola Tinubu had previously urged Nigerians to reconsider the #EndBadGovernance protest set to kick off on August 1.

The protest, organized anonymously, has generated interest on social media and is set to take place nationwide, covering all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
