Emily Hampshire joins Adrien Brody in Stephen King series Chapelwaite
King’s story follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who, in the 1850s, moves his family to his ancestral home in Preacher’s Corner, Maine. There he must confront past secrets and fight against the darkness that has plagued his family name for generations.
Per the report, the actress will play Rebecca Morgan, “an ambitious young woman” who left the comforts of home for college, and has now returned to write for the prestigious Atlantic Magazine. She is instantly drawn to Brody’s character, and applies to be governess of the infamous Chapelwaite manor so that she may write the next great gothic novel based on his family.
Donald De Line will serve as executive producer, whilst Jason and Peter Filardi will executive produce and serve as show runners.
Production is set to commence in Halifax, Nova Scotia in April in order to meet a planned Fall 2020 premiere date.
Hampshire is well known for her role as Stevie Budd in the Emmy-nominated series Schitt’s Creek, which just finished its sixth and final season on Pop! She can also be seen in the upcoming thriller Home, as well as series 50 States of Fright.
