The former National Vice Chairman of APC, Salihu Lukman, believes that 2027 is a crucial opportunity to replace the current President, Bola Tinubu.
Lukman expressed his disappointment in the way the APC, along with former President Buhari and President Tinubu, have managed the country, stating that they have failed the Nigerian people.
He highlighted the importance of democratic principles, urging citizens to vote out any government that does not fulfill its promises, emphasizing that President Tinubu and the APC have not met expectations.
Addressing the opposition leaders, Lukman called for unity and a focus on national interests rather than individual presidential ambitions to save the country from current political challenges.
He criticized the opposition’s failure to come together and form a united front against President Tinubu, who, he believes, gains strength from their disunity.
Despite acknowledging the poor performance of President Tinubu, opposition leaders like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso are still driven by their personal aspirations for the presidency rather than collaborating to establish a formidable platform for the 2027 elections.
Lukman appealed to the opposition figures to prioritize the country’s well-being over their individual ambitions and to recognize the severity of the challenges faced by citizens.
He criticized the current state of politics where personal ambitions overshadow the nation’s needs, urging for a more compassionate and proactive approach from the opposition leaders.
Lukman concluded by expressing his surprise and disappointment at the failure of both Buhari and Tinubu, leaders whom their supporters never anticipated would be such significant disappointments.
