Deji Adeyanju, a lawyer and activist, has faced criticism from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for declaring the association as irrelevant.

NANS rebuffed Adeyanju’s claims, considering them unfounded and aimed at undermining their credibility.

The union advised Adeyanju to cease seeking attention and interfering in their affairs.

In response, the Association, represented by Senate President Akinteye Babatunde, affirmed their commitment to advocating for the welfare of Nigerian students and citizens.

Babatunde recommended that Adeyanju concentrate on seeking justice for individuals arrested during the #EndBadGovernance protest.

He commented: “We propose that Adeyanju shifts his focus to resolving his internal conflicts.

“Instead of meddling in NANS matters, he should prioritize advocating for detained individuals from the protest. It is essential that he concentrates on meaningful pursuits rather than seeking publicity and trying to involve NANS in his personal agenda.

“Despite Adeyanju’s assertion that NANS is no longer relevant, it is puzzling that he and others anticipate our involvement in causes they champion. We are unafraid to stand up for righteousness and only engage in causes we comprehend fully and approach with insight.

“NANS remains steadfast and will not be swayed by individuals who have built their reputation on falsehoods.”
