Fubara Urgently Seeks Reconciliation with Wike

Again Fubara Visits Wike Begs for Reconciliation (via Primetweets)

The suspended governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, has once again visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

This meeting was held at Wike’s home in Abuja on Monday.

An anonymous source revealed this information to DAILY POST, clarifying a circulating photo of Fubara and Wike.

The insider stated: “That picture is from an earlier time, but I can confirm he (Fubara) met with the Minister this past Monday.”

This gathering is thought to be a part of Fubara’s initiative to mend relationships between himself, Wike, and other key figures in Rivers State.

Fubara faced challenges shortly after assuming office as the governor in 2023.

He found himself in conflict with Wike, his predecessor, over the governance of political resources within the state.

This disagreement escalated to the State House of Assembly, resulting in a division within the legislative body.

On March 18, 2025, President Bola Tinubu suspended Fubara for six months and declared a state of emergency in Rivers to last during this time.

Tinubu’s decision to suspend Fubara and appoint Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as a Sole Administrator was aimed at curbing the political unrest and preventing it from escalating into a security crisis, amid threats from Niger Delta militants to target oil facilities in the state.

During his suspension, Fubara met with President Tinubu in both London and Lagos, as well as Wike, in an effort to find common ground.

Following their meeting, Wike signaled a willingness to reconcile, referring to Fubara as his son, and encouraged him to engage with other political leaders in Rivers State to further address the ongoing issues.

Nonetheless, there have been no updates on Fubara’s interactions with additional stakeholders as his suspension enters its third month.
