Adewole Adebayo, a former presidential candidate, has likened the administration led by Tinubu to a poorly managed fuel station.
Adebayo, representing the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the recent presidential elections, expressed his grievances over the rising fuel prices affecting Nigerians through a post on his official X account.
He criticized both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for not fulfilling their duties, questioning the ongoing poverty and economic failure when simple solutions are readily available.
He stated, “The administration of @officialABAT resembles a chaotic fuel station where many are more interested in price gouging than fulfilling governmental responsibilities, as directed by Chapter 2 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria that emphasizes economic growth.
“The neglect of essential policy objectives by @OfficialAPCNg and @OfficialPDPNig represents a violation of their oath of office and a burden to the nation.
“Why must the populace suffer in poverty and let the economy languish when solutions lie within reach? Economics isn’t a complex mystery.
“We need development planning guided by quality data that adheres to well-defined principles and targets aimed at reducing production costs, enhancing productivity, and upholding the Naira as a valuable currency through efficient fiscal and monetary strategies that promote prudent investment.
“This entails the full utilization of labor and resources, which is essential. Leaving people behind is not an option if we are to reach prosperity. Let this be a lesson for the wise.”
