GCE Candidates Encounter Issues at Exam Center
On January 30, candidates of the General Certificate Examination (GCE) who arrived at the National Open University (NOUN) in Victoria Island were denied entry to take their exams.
The students found themselves in a confusing situation as they were unexpectedly turned away due to ongoing examinations for NOUN students, which made the venue unavailable for outsiders.
As a result, the GCE candidates were redirected to an alternative location within a market on Lagos Island to complete their exams.
Footage circulated online depicts candidates waiting outside this new venue while preparations were made for their examination hall.
Parents of some candidates expressed their frustrations, criticizing the GCE organizers for their lack of communication and planning. They noted that there was no advance warning regarding the change in venue until the students had already arrived at the original exam center.
