Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, who serves as the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, is in deep grief over the loss of his daughter and three grandchildren in a tragic house fire in Sifawa town, located in the Bodinga Local Government Area.
This heartbreaking incident took place in the early morning of January 6, 2025, at the home of his daughter, Rabiatu, wife to Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello, the Permanent Secretary for the Sokoto State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development.
The fire swiftly spread through the house during the night, resulting in the deaths of the family members and their maid.
Reports indicate that Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello is the sole survivor.
Investigators are currently looking into the cause of the fire, while firefighters made considerable efforts to bring it under control.
The victims were laid to rest today at the Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque in Sifawa.
