Anna Cathcart as Kitty Covey

In To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Cathcart plays Kitty, the youngest Covey sister responsible for meddling in Lara Jean’s affairs. Kitty mails out the love letters Lara Jean writes to her crushes past and present. In doing so, she kickstarts Lara Jean’s relationship with her high school crush Peter Kavinsky, but she also creates the accidental love triangle seen in P.S. I Still Love You

How Cathcart’s life changed after ‘To All the Boys’ success

From the relatable subject matter to the ever-charming cast, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before has seen massive amounts of success surrounding both films. While all of the stars have had their own experiences with their newfound fame, 16-year-old Cathcart says her life changed “just a little bit!” In an interview with MTV News, she said that her life at school wasn’t all that different. Her friends knew that she was pursuing a career in acting, so the only thing that really changed was her name. “Coming [back to school] after the summer it came out…everybody knew me as Kitty,” Cathcart explained.

Instead, she noticed more of a change on her social media accounts, recalling how her Instagram followers increased “overnight.” She remembers seeing herself and her cast members “…on [her] explore page [on Instagram], and [she] kept getting recommended videos of [cast-mates] and Google alerts.” Aside from the “mind-blowing” viral-ness of her success, Cathcart says “people just see me the way I see myself.”

Cathcart’s secret to social media

Despite her instant fame, Cathcart’s social media habits haven’t really changed. She strives to be “authentic” on social media, posting things that fit her overall vibe and interests. Cathcart says she only likes to share things she would like to find on other people’s feeds. Cathcart says social media can be such a negative space, so she aims to steer clear of sharing anything that would give off a bad vibe. With a lot of eyes on her, Cathcart asks herself an important question before posting to social media: is what she’s about to post “…something that [she] would enjoy looking at…?”

What’s next for Kitty Covey?

Fortunately, To All the Boys fans have more to look forward to. A third installment has been confirmed, titled To All the Boys: Always and Forever, Lara Jean. Parts two and three of this series were filmed one after the other, which means fans can expect to see even more Kitty Covey and her meddlesome ways sometime in the near future.
