Imo Police Command Begin Orderly Trial Of Officers Caught On (via Primetweets)

 

The police command in Imo State has initiated a trial for several of its officers recorded receiving bribes from bus drivers.

A video surfaced online showing a patrol officer accepting cash from a driver, sparking public outrage over the weekend.

According to a statement from the police spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye, the commissioner of police has directed that the implicated officers be arrested.

On October 17, Okoye announced that the officers identified in the viral video, which showed them extorting money in Owerri, are currently undergoing an orderly room trial. The officers involved include Inspector Ibrahim Nainna, Inspector Unaka Maxvirgin, Inspector Miller Ibinitta, and Sergeant Antony Alozie.

Okoye assured that updates regarding the trial’s outcome will be provided in the future.
