Music artist Jaywon faces backlash from Nigerians after posting pictures of his recent visit to the gravesite of the late music star, Sound Sultan.
Sound Sultan, who passed away in 2021, was a close friend of Jaywon. The visit was Jaywon’s way of showing respect to the singer.
Following his visit, Jaywon shared images from the gravesite, referring to Sound Sultan as his mentor.
In his post, he expressed:
“At the resting place of a mentor, where wisdom, guidance, and inspiration now lay in eternal peace. Gone, but forever a part of us. Keep resting #soundsultan @soundsultan forever. Jay wana wana in your voice.”
However, the reaction on social media was largely negative, with users criticizing his actions:
One user, frankiepen2021, commented: “Snapping at people’s grave for social media and you claim to love them. Bad publicity.”
Another, General Vibes Only, remarked: “What you all do for PR.”
User omobabprince said: “You do well for you to remember our legend Sound Sultan.”
Lastly, operaniyifx_ stated: “You people need to stop turning burial grounds into motion grounds… the dead don’t listen to the living.”
