A former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani has slammed the Nigerian Army after it claimed the military airstrike that killed many villagers in Tudun Biri village, Kaduna State.
Recall that the airstrike happened on Sunday.
He stated that those bombs should have been dropped on terrorists and not civilians.
Recall that an unmanned aerial vehicle bombed some parts of the community, killing a yet to ascertained number of individuals while the villagers were marking the Maulud celebration to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
”A call to the Kaduna village where bombs were dropped on religious worshippers reported that over 150 people were killed. A tragic, horrific and condemnable act. These bombs should be dropped on terrorists and not civilians,” Sani wrote via his X handle on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna State government said it has received briefings on the attack, explaining that the Army was on a routine mission against terrorists but members of the community were inadvertently affected.
The government ordered an immediate investigation into circumstances surrounding the airstrike.
It also directed the immediate evacuation of the injured to the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital for emergency medical attention.
