The state government of Kano has indefinitely delayed the start of the new academic year for primary and secondary schools planned for 2024/2025.
This postponement has been made for “urgent reasons,” although details have not been disclosed.
Balarabe Kiru, the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Kano State Ministry of Education, communicated this change through a statement released on Saturday.
Kiru mentioned that a new resumption date will be announced shortly by Umar Doguwa, the Commissioner for Education.
He stated, “I would like to notify all students, parents, and pupils that the previously set dates for resumption on September 8 and 9, 2024, are now postponed.
“This choice is driven by urgent needs aimed at improving the educational environment for our children. We will share an updated resumption date soon.”
