Renowned Business Leader Alhaji Bala AlbaBello Passes Away

Alhaji Bala AlbaBello, a notable businessman from Kaduna State, has sadly passed away at the age of 67.

The founder and head of AlbaBello Trading Company lost his life on Monday at approximately 5 PM following a short illness at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Shika, Zaria.

He is survived by four wives, 28 children, and several grandchildren.

AlbaBello Trading Company, known for its expertise in building materials, food, and beverages, is a significant player with multiple locations across northern Nigeria. Its headquarters can be found in Timber Shed, ‘Yan Katako, Sabon Gari, Zaria, Kaduna State.

Originally named Abdulkadir Abdulwahab, AlbaBello was from the Karaye Local Government Area in Kano State. He named his business by combining the initials of his name (Alhaji Bala) and his brother’s (Bello). For over 45 years, AlbaBello was a prominent figure in Zaria, focusing on the trade of building materials and food products.

His funeral prayer took place Tuesday morning at his home in Zaria, attracting thousands of attendees, including the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Mahraz, representatives of the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, along with business associates, friends, and dignitaries from far and wide.

Alhaji Ibrahim Bulama, a neighbor and Chairman of Mamu Oils and Gas, reflected on AlbaBello’s legacy, recalling him as a humble and generous man committed to aiding orphans and the less fortunate.

“His unwavering contributions to Islamic causes will always be remembered,”
stated Bulama.

A condolence visit from Media Trust, led by Regional Manager Alhaji Yusuf Jiddah, took place at the family’s home in Zaria. Jiddah honored the late mogul as a supportive friend of the media, acknowledging his significant influence on the marketing strategies of various organizations.

He urged the leadership of AlbaBello Trading Company to carry forward the business principles and marketing strategies initiated by the late chairman.

Also expressing grief was Alhaji Buhari Awwalu, Zonal Director of FRCN Kaduna Network Centre, who remarked that AlbaBello’s philanthropic ventures had positively impacted many lives, particularly those of vulnerable communities.

Sagir Awwal, Chairman of the NUJ Zaria Chapter, described the loss as “irreparable” and offered prayers for AlbaBello’s peace.

On behalf of the family, Alhaji Hassan Abdulwahab, Managing Director of AlbaBello Trading Company, expressed sincere gratitude for the overwhelming support and compassion presented by the community during this difficult time.

He thanked everyone for their prayers and solidarity amidst their grief.
