A Nigerian lady has shared a throwback post showing how much she bought 6 yams in 2014.

The post on Facebook has sparked serious debate over the dwindling economy.

The lady identified as Nkemjikaku Christien shared a post on Facebook in 2014 after buying six yams in the market for N500.

“6 yams for N500?! Ok na,” she wrote on her Facebook wall ten years ago.

Nigerians who came across the post compared the price with the current situation and cried over the increment over the years.

Israel Obinna said: “We were not grateful. Now look at where we are. 500 naira can’t buy you a tuber of Yam now. This country is gone!”
