The ruler of Oyotunji African village in Beaufort County, Southern Carolina, the United States, passed away after being stabbed by his sister during a dispute. The incident occurred on Monday, July 29, 2024, as reported by WJCL.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a call about the stabbing around 2:45 p.m. at the village on Bryant Lane. The 47-year-old victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately died from his wounds. The suspect, identified as Akiba Kasale Meredith, 53, initially fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended. Meredith was charged with murder and is now in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
