During an exciting finale at Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Sunday, Adetshina and Miss Denmark, Theilvig, engaged in a captivating competition for the title.
In the end, it was Theilvig who took home the crown, marking the transition from Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, the reigning Miss Universe 2023.
After the pageant, Adetshina took to Instagram to express her gratitude.
She reflected on the immense support from her fellow Nigerians during her toughest times, noting that Africa taught her the significance of unity on the path to achievement.
In her message, she stated, “To Nigeria: My gratitude cannot be encapsulated in words alone. You lifted me in my darkest hours. There were times I felt like giving up on life, but your encouragement became my backbone. Thank you to everyone who shared this journey with me.
Addressing Africa, she added, “To Africa: your affection and backing have meant the world. While I represent Nigeria, the entire continent stood by me. My journey resonated with many, uniting us. This experience has underscored the strength found in unity. I dream of a world where we can all embrace and uplift one another.”
Chidimma Adetshina concluded her message by stating that this moment signifies the beginning of her journey, rather than its conclusion.
