Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been officially named the winner of the governorship election held on Saturday in Ondo State, as per the announcement from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Aiyedatiwa emerged victorious by securing the most votes in the election.
He competed against several candidates including Ajayi Agboola from the PDP, Olorunfemi Festus of the Labour Party (LP), and Abbas Mimiko from the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) during the election.
During the result announcement in Akure, the state capital, INEC’s Returning Officer, Professor Akinwumi Olayemi Durotimi, revealed that Aiyedatiwa received a total of 366,781 votes, while Ajayi Agboola garnered 117,845 and the Labour Party received 1,162 votes.
