At Lahore International Airport in Pakistan, a man from Nigeria was apprehended by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for smuggling drugs.
The individual arrived from Nigeria via Dubai and was discovered to have 38 capsules filled with cocaine concealed in his stomach.
The ANF spokesperson stated on Thursday, August 29, 2024, that a total of 608 grams of cocaine were extracted from the capsules.
This arrest underscores the growing issue of drug trafficking cases involving foreign citizens.
For instance, in 2023, ten Nigerians were detained in similar incidents, resulting in the seizure of 4.811 kilograms of drugs.
Thus far this year, law enforcement has conducted seven operations, resulting in the arrest of eight Nigerian individuals and the confiscation of 11.420 kilograms of narcotics.
The individual in question is facing charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are ongoing.
