Man Shares Story of Wife Being Deceived into Signing Away House, Highlighting Importance of Education

Phasha Manapyane, a South African man, recently shared an incredible story to emphasize the importance of getting an education. He revealed that his wife, who had not gone to school, unknowingly signed away ownership of their house to someone who was attempting to scam them. The fraudster had come to their house claiming to be a pizza delivery worker, even though they had not ordered any pizza. His wife was then given a document to sign, which she did without reading it, thinking it was just an acknowledgement of receiving the package. Unfortunately, it was actually a contract of sale, and because she was not educated, she did not understand the implications of what she was signing.

In response to a question posed by Alu Ndou asking if educational background matters in a relationship, Phasha wrote on Facebook: “Somebody delivered a pizza that we did not order and we were required to sign a paper. I wasn’t around. My woman signed and that’s how our house was sold.” This story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of education and the consequences of not being informed.
