Suspect in Homicide Case Sent to Custody
Ebochue Kingsley Uzoka, 40, has been ordered to remain in custody by a Mobile Court at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Umuahia, Abia State, regarding the suspected murder of Chimaobi Anya Ojo.
Uzoka faced charges of conspiracy and murder on January 28, 2025.
The allegations state that he, along with several accomplices who have evaded arrest, planned the murder of Ojo on September 20 of the previous year in Nkata Ibeku, Umuahia North.
Chief Magistrate P. N. Lekwa postponed the proceedings to February 19 and instructed the Chief Registrar to send the case documentation to the state Attorney-General for further action.
The deceased, Chimaobi Anya Ojo, aged 36, originally from Elu Ohafia in the Ohafia Local Government Area, had just returned from Poland in February 2024. He was excited to meet his infant daughter and was preparing to provide a suitable home for his family.
Tragically, his life was abruptly ended shortly after he celebrated his daughter’s first birthday on September 8.
