Mass Resignations Loom as Transportation Costs Surge in Nigeria

Many Nigerians Will Resign From Their Places Of Work This (via Primetweets)

Impact of Transportation Costs on Employment

Chude, a Nigerian influencer on X, suggests that a significant number of young Nigerians may quit their jobs this month due to soaring transportation costs.

In August, petrol prices surged dramatically, rising from N568 to at least N878, varying by location. This jump in fuel costs has led to elevated transportation fees.

Many employees are now faced with higher transportation expenses while their salaries remain unchanged.

Chude emphasized that this financial strain may compel many workers to resign, as commuting to work becomes increasingly unaffordable.

Nigerians are voicing their frustrations regarding transportation challenges. Some car owners have opted to leave their vehicles at home, finding that using public transport is now more economical than driving.
