Oluwatoyin Oluwaremilekun Babatope-Adegbola simply known as Toyin Adegbola is a Yoruba Nollywood actress, movie director and producer. She can be referred to as one of the matriarchs of the Yoruba Nollywood.
Toyin Adegbola popularly known as ‘Asewo To Re Mecca’ was born on December 28, 1961. She is from Ilesha, Osun state. She spent her childhood days in Ibadan, Oyo state.
Toyin Adegbola started her acting career in 1984 and has featured in several Yoruba Nollywood movies which include Mayowa(1999), #150million Part 1&2(2003,2004), etc.
Toyin Adegbola is still very active in the Yoruba movie industry and has proven to be talented with unique interpretation of her roles in movies. she is a board member of Osun State Arts and Culture Council. She got this appointment in 2013. She is also known for her low-cut hairstyle.
‘Asewo To Re Mecca’ also received City People Movie Matriarch Recognition Award for her exceptional contribution to Yoruba Nollywood. Toyin is a widow with 3 grown-up children. Her late husband, Anthony Kolawole Adegbola was a journalist.
Toyin Adegbola’s children are identified as Adetunji Oluwasegunfunmi Adegbola(first child), Adeola Adegbola and Opeyemi Oyindamola Apinke(last born).
Toyin Adegbola also has 3 grandchildren presently.
Her first child and only son, Adetunji Adegbola married Oluwatosin Adegbola and the couple is blessed with 2 lovely kids identified as Oluwasemilore and Oluwanifemi Adegbola.
Toyin Adegbola’s last child, Opeyemi has a baby girl named Adunni.
Toyin Adegbola’s second child, Adeola Adegbola just got married to her heartthrob in 2019, an event which was graced by some Yoruba celebrities. This beautiful daughter of Toyin Adegbola is her carbon copy.
