Miley Cyrus Claims Katy Perry Wrote ‘I Kissed A Girl’ Song About Her
The all new Miley Cyrus is back, she regrets licking a sledgehammer, she’s given up the jazz cigarettes and she’s reflecting on her nine-year long friendship with fellow pop sensation, Katy Perry.
In a recent radio interview with WKTU’s Cubby and Carolina, Miley spoke about the friendship, and how she was apparently the inspiration behind Perry’s break-out hit “I Kissed A Girl”.
“When she came out with ‘I Kissed A Girl’, I was doing the ‘Hannah Montana Movie’ and I heard her on the radio,” Cyrus told the radio hosts. “They said, ‘Who’d you write that about?’ And she said me.”
“I was on a four-wheeler actually, my dad has this four-wheeler — this is how hillbilly we are. We have a radio attached to a four-wheeler, and I heard it and I started screaming and freaking out.”
The song came out in 2008, when Cyrus was 15, which is kinda weird considering the overtly sexual nature of some of the lyrics. A fresh faced and 15-year-old Miley was then asked to go to her first VMAs with Perry, but due to her young age was chaperoned by her mum, Tish Cyrus.
While this is all well and good, it doesn’t entirely add up.
In the past, Perry has said the song was based on fantasy, on a childhood friend that she DID kiss and also because one time she opened a magazine and saw a photo of Scarlett Johansson.
This isn’t the first time Katy and Miley’s kissing antics has made headlines, during Miley’s “Bangerz” tour she went in for a full pash, much to Katy’s surprise. Perry later went on “Sunrise” to say she pulled away because, “God knows where that tongue has been”. Miley clapped back on Twitter, bringing up Katy’s ex John Mayer.
Shady, shady.
