Mompha
Popular Nigerian socialite Ismaila Mustapha, also known as Mompha, has once again criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
This follows the agency’s request for him to substantiate his claims that they are the most corrupt agency in Nigeria.
Recently, a witness in Mompha’s money laundering trial alleged that N35 billion was discovered in Mompha’s accounts.
In response to the witness’s statement, Mompha took to his Instagram and referred to the EFCC as “the most useless and corrupt government agency in Nigeria.”
Responding to the EFCC’s demand for proof of corruption allegations, Mompha released a statement mentioning that the EFCC’s response only highlights their ineffectiveness and lack of purpose.
He accused the agency of assaulting innocent individuals during their unauthorized nighttime operations in Ondo and Lagos states.
Refer to Mompha’s statement excerpt below:
“My attention has once again been drawn to the social media tantrum of the EFCC demanding that I prove corruption allegation against them. The fact that the commission, particularly their chairman could stoop so low to respond to my post shows clearly how useless, jobless the EFCC is and how they waste taxpayers’ money on exchanging banter on social media.”
Mompha further criticized the EFCC’s actions outside of their designated duties, such as deploying armed forces to obstruct peaceful protests and impede citizens’ lawful activities in Lagos and Abuja.
Additionally, he questioned the authenticity of the money laundering accusations against him and highlighted inconsistencies in the EFCC’s claims.
He challenged the EFCC’s assertion of having solid evidence against him and pointed out the lack of concrete proof in court so far.
Mompha concluded by stating his readiness to counter any further responses from the EFCC with additional evidence to support his claims.
