Members of the public marking the EndSARS anniversary have faced arrest by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
The arrests occurred at Lekki Tollgate on Sunday, October 20, 2024, as demonstrators were transported in a black maria.
Footage circulating online shows attendees claiming that their peaceful demonstration was interrupted when police started firing shots and deploying tear gas to disperse them.
As of now, there has been no official comment from the police regarding this event.
This gathering was intended to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the October 20 EndSARS memorial.
