The footballer has attracted negative attention for being seen using his phone while driving dangerously on a German highway.
A photo shared by Boniface showed him looking at his phone while behind the wheel of his Mercedes Benz.
This behavior has drawn significant backlash against the 23-year-old player.
“I find this unacceptable, it’s clearly dangerous, and it should not occur. I haven’t spoken to Boni yet, but he is aware that such behavior is prohibited,” said manager Xabi Alonso in an interview with BeIN Sports.
“We need to remind him that engaging in such activities is not acceptable.”
