The Power Minister, Adebayo Adelabu, announced that more than 40% of Nigerians now benefit from 20 hours of daily electricity supply.

On September 29, Adelabu shared that this improvement stems from various strategies implemented by the government aimed at providing a more consistent power supply to the populace.

“This achievement is a result of transformative actions being taken by the Power Minister, with the backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he stated.

He pointed out that one of the key successes of his ministry over the past year is the generation of over 5,500 megawatts of power.

Adelabu stressed the vital role of stable electricity in enhancing economic growth.

“The major milestone is that we now generate over 5,500 megawatts of power, which we successfully transmit and distribute. Currently, more than 40% of customers experience over 20 hours of reliable electricity supply across the country. The improvement from when we assumed office to the present is noticeable, and we aim to enhance this further,” he elaborated.
