NLC President Affirms Commitment to Nigerian Workers’ Cause

Struggle Continues – NLC President Speaks After Police Questioning (via Primetweets)

Joe Ajaero, the President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), emphasized the unwavering determination of labour unions to advocate for the welfare of Nigerian workers.

Ajaero made these remarks on Thursday after being interrogated at the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) office in Guzape, Abuja, regarding allegations of terrorism financing and other related offenses.

Accompanied by Maxwell Opara, the Deputy Lead Counsel from Falana & Falana’s Chambers, along with other legal representatives, Ajaero reaffirmed the union’s commitment to championing the cause of the recently approved N70,000 minimum wage by the federal government.

He expressed, “Regardless of the circumstances surrounding my visit to the IRT office, our focus remains on continuing the struggle. We have secured a minimum wage agreement that needs to be promptly implemented, so we will vigorously advocate for its execution.

“We are dedicated to pursuing any initiative that enhances the well-being of Nigerian workers.

“We will remain undeterred by any distractions. I extend my gratitude to the NLC, NAC, NEC, and CWC for their unwavering support demonstrated during this time,” Ajaero concluded.
