Nigerian Woman Critiques Nollywood for Repetitive Casting

Lizzy Adebayo, a Nigerian content creator, has expressed her concerns about Nollywood’s approach to filmmaking on YouTube.

She accused filmmakers of frequently reusing the same actors and producing low-quality content.

Adebayo shared her thoughts in a video on TikTok, urging producers to focus on enhancing the quality of their productions rather than churning out numerous projects.

She remarked, “Please, all these YouTube filmmakers and actors, it’s time for a change in 2025.”

“We are wasting our data and Wi-Fi on subpar content. We pay for subscriptions!”

“Are you not tired of seeing the same actors in every film?”

“It’s like Ruth Kadiri, Deza the Great, Sam Maurice, and Sonia Uche are getting overexposed.”
