Residents of a community in Ogun have trooped out to scoop fuel from a fallen tanker along the Lagos-Ibadan highway on Wednesday.
According to DailyPost, the residents came with jerry cans in their hands immediately after the tanker crashed, barricading the highway and spilling its contents.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the crash of the tanker to newsmen.
FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, said: “A crash involving a fallen tanker just occurred around Danco on the outward section of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
“FRSC rescue team is on ground, fire service has been contacted, and the crash area has been cordoned off to prevent a secondary crash.”
The fallen tanker has caused heavy gridlock on the highway.
