The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ruled against Olusola Ebiseni, disqualifying him from being the Labour Party’s candidate in the Ondo state gubernatorial elections scheduled for November 16, 2024.
This decision was announced by a panel of three judges, led by Justice Adebukola Banjoko.
Justice Banjoko stated, “The appeal numbered CA/ABJ/CV/1172/2024 from the Labour Party concerning Chief Olusola Ebiseni and others is approved.”
She also mentioned that a Certified True Copy of the judgment would be available to the involved parties for their review soon.
It is worth noting that previously, Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja had directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Olusola Ebiseni and Ezekiel Awude as the Labour Party’s candidates for the gubernatorial elections.
According to Justice Nwite, the Labour Party’s second primary election that selected Ebiseni and Awude was legitimate and should be acknowledged by INEC.
Nonetheless, the appellate court has now reversed the initial ruling from the trial court.
