Jaquie Goncher is a 25-year-old woman who got married recently. When she was 17, Jaquie suffered a spinal cord injury and was paralyzed from the neck down. The doctors believed she would never walk away but again but she stayed active in physical therapy.

For the next eight years, she was mostly wheelchair bound so to her guests, her being pushed in a wheelchair was normal. However, during she stood up from the wheelchair with the help of her mother and grandfather and walked down the aisle to meet her groom, Andy Goncher.

All the wedding guests were pleasantly surprised and had tears in their eyes.

Speaking to Cosmopolitian, she said: “It’s been really emotional. Sometimes I don’t realize how miraculous it is that I am walking. This experience reminds me of what a miracle it is that I can walk now.”‎
