Peter Obi, former Anambra State governor, has expressed his condolences to the families affected by a tragic accident that took place in Abagana market on Wednesday.

The incident happened when a Toyota Sienna lost brake control and crashed into the busy Oye-Agu Abagana Market, located in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

As a result of the crash, three individuals lost their lives, and several vendors who were near the roadside suffered serious injuries, alongside damage to their goods.

In his heartfelt message of sympathy issued on Thursday, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate urged the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to intensify efforts to enforce road safety regulations.

“I am deeply saddened to hear about the tragic road accident that took place in a local market within the Abagana Community of Anambra State, resulting in the loss of lives and injuries to others,”
Obi stated.

He emphasized the importance of the Road Safety Commission in ensuring compliance with traffic rules and making the roads safer for everyone. “I sincerely sympathize with the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” Obi shared on his X account.
