Ogun Gov To Spend ₦24 Billion On Purchase Of SUVs

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, is set to spend ₦2.4 billion on acquiring 25 Toyota sports utility vehicles for members of the state House of Assembly as indicated in the state’s 2024 budget.

The governor signed the ₦703 billion 2024 Appropriation Bill into law on December 30, 2023, under the theme “Budget of Sustained Growth and Development,” with ₦415.66 billion allocated for capital expenditure and ₦287.37 billion for recurrent expenditure.

Within the budget breakdown, ₦2,177,700,000.00 was designated for purchasing 25 Toyota Prado VX vehicles for the state House of Assembly, while ₦161,772,000.00 was budgeted for a Toyota LC300 3.5L twin turbo for the House Speaker. Additionally, ₦143,106,000.00 was allocated for a Toyota LC300 GX 4.0L for the state assembly.

Furthermore, the budget outlines an amount of ₦18,971,887,528.84 under the “Office of the Governor” for contingencies to address unforeseen circumstances.
