A notable social media commentator recently accused of having approximately N180 million taken from an NGO’s account.

The Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has stated that they are not involved in any investigation regarding the supposedly misappropriated funds from an NGO owned by the well-known social critic, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

VDM asserted in a viral video released on Friday that approximately N180 million had been taken from the NGO’s account.

He further claimed that a suspect was apprehended in Jos, Plateau State in relation to this case and mentioned that “someone hacked into the NGO’s website” to steal the funds.

The video has sparked widespread criticism and discussion across various platforms since its release.

In a conversation with DAILY POST on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Plateau State Command, Alfred Alabo, commented, “We are not aware of this case. We are not conducting any investigation. Please reach out to the FCT Command to determine if they have any record of it.”

Additionally, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command indicated that they are “not familiar with the situation.”
