President Tinubu’s Upcoming Visit to France

On Wednesday, November 27, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside the First Lady, Remi Tinubu, and key government officials, will commence a state visit to France.

This announcement was made by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday.

The trip is in response to an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron.

Onanuga highlighted that the primary aim of the visit is to enhance political, economic, and cultural ties while exploring new partnership avenues, especially in sectors like agriculture, security, education, health, youth empowerment, innovation, and energy transition, which are expected to greatly benefit Nigeria.

Additionally, the spokesperson mentioned that President Macron plans to host a state dinner for President Tinubu and the First Lady prior to their return.

The statement detailed, “President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Wednesday to honor President Emmanuel Macron’s invitation for a state visit to France.”

“The three-day agenda will emphasize the enhancement of diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations, with a specific focus on agriculture, security, education, health, youth involvement, innovation, and energy transitions, promising significant gains for Nigeria.”

“The Tinubus are scheduled to meet with Macron and his wife, Brigitte, at the historic Les Invalides and Palais de l’Élysée on Thursday for initial ceremonies that will lead into important bilateral discussions.”

“During their meeting, President Tinubu and President Macron will align their goals towards promoting youth skill exchange programs that emphasize automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership opportunities.”

“Both leaders will engage in conversations around finance, solid minerals, trade, investments, and communication during political and diplomatic gatherings. They will also attend a session organized by the France-Nigeria Business Council, which focuses on private sector contributions to economic growth.”

“Brigitte and Nigeria’s First Lady will engage in discussions regarding initiatives aimed at empowering women, children, and vulnerable groups through the Renewed Hope Initiative.”

“Before returning, President Tinubu and his wife will be hosted at a state dinner by the French President, accompanied by key government officials throughout the visit.”
