A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State, Usman Austin Okai, believes that the act of a man kneeling to propose to a woman is disrespectful and degrading.
He argues that women should not take joy in such gestures as it goes against cultural and religious norms.
On social media, Okai expressed his views by saying, “Never teach your son to kneel before a woman for marriage proposal.”
He further questioned the cultural or religious significance of such actions, labeling them as unnatural, demeaning, and disrespectful.
