Panshak Zamani, widely recognized as Ice Prince, a renowned Nigerian rapper, has candidly shared details about his challenging upbringing as an orphan.
The artist, known for hits like ‘Aboki’, faced significant hardships after losing his mother when he was just 21, following the earlier death of his father at 11 years old.
In a recent episode of the ‘Listen’ podcast, Ice Prince talked about his struggle to finance his education, stating that he took on numerous low-paying jobs. He revealed that he could not proceed to university due to an inability to secure N20,000 in time.
He expressed, “I don’t have a mother or father. I’m an only son. That’s really tough. My dad passed away when I was eleven, and losing my mum at 21 or 22 was hard. I have a big family relying on me.
“I lack any relatives or mentors to lean on, so it’s been solely God guiding me through.”
“I hope my story inspires others to believe they can achieve their own success, as I have.”
“I frequently missed school for weeks due to unpaid fees. I wasn’t able to enroll in university because of the N20,000. I needed two weeks to gather the funds but unfortunately couldn’t manage it, leading to my lost admission.”
“I didn’t go to the University because of 20,000 Naira.”
